Faunus - Exotic Animal World
Faunus is a Fabric modification that enriches the Minecraft world with diverse exotic animals from the American continents! Currently, the mod adds about a dozen unique creatures - from voracious piranhas in swamps to playful capuchin monkeys in jungles, and the developers plan further content expansion!
Jungle Inhabitants
In tropical forests, you'll encounter quetzals - beautiful birds whose feathers can be used to create a special accessory that increases movement speed and attracts villagers.
Hoatzins - birds with a distinctive odor that feed on leaves. When attacked, you become covered with their smell, which repels other creatures. Hoatzin feathers are also used in creating potions with the same effect.
Tapirs - large animals serving as livestock in jungles. They provide nutritious meat and leather but can defend themselves by attacking and applying an effect that attracts hostile mobs. For breeding, use potatoes or fruits. Using a bottle, you can collect "Bottle of Stink" for potion brewing.
Piranhas - aggressive fish inhabiting swamp and jungle waters. They can strip a horse to bones in seconds - consider how you differ from it?
Capuchins - neutral monkeys that can be tamed with any fruit. Tamed individuals can be carried with you - they will collect items for you. Wild monkeys attack when threatened if enough gather, using not only scratches and bites but also other defense methods.
Swamp Dwellers
Yacares - large crocodiles that provide meat when killed. Breed with any fish. There's a belief that if they eat a human, their size increases exponentially - be careful!
Arapaima - huge fish that can be bred with spider eyes to obtain spawn. Despite the possibility of taming, these giants can still cause significant damage.
Leeches - small parasites with medicinal properties. They attach to victims and drink blood, detaching after saturation. Leeches can be caught in bottles and brewed into vampirism potions that provide life steal effect. Splash and lingering potion versions create leeches on the target.
Crayfish come in common green and rare blue colors. They can be caught by hand if you act quickly. Both types are edible after cooking, and blue crayfish are used to create Swamp Crawler Potions.
Snapping Turtles - natural traps. They bury themselves in mud or dirt, exposing only their heads, and instantly attack anything that gets too close.
Songbirds - decorative birds with multiple color variations, similar to tropical fish.
