FTB Quests Importer: Importing Quests from Better Questing

Attention: This mod is in no way affiliated with the Feed The Beast team and is merely an additional extension for FTB Quests!

Main Purpose

The mod does exactly what its name implies - allows you to convert quests, rewards, and even player data from Better Questing to the FTB Quests format using a single simple command. This significantly simplifies the transition process from one mod to another for modpack developers and server administrators.

Important Warning

WARNING: Using this tool will delete existing FTB Quests chapters and reward tables, replacing them with imported quests. Be careful!

Command Syntax

/ftbq_import <quests|progress> [flags]

Flags for Quest Importing:

-c or --auto-cmd: Automatically sets command rewards for auto-claiming and hides them from the user.

-d or --default-icons: Replaces the Better Questing quest icon with the icon of the top-leftmost quest in the chapter (useful for replacing BQ's default "book" icon).

Flags for Progress Importing:

Currently no flags available.

Guide for Modpack Developers

If you're planning to switch from Better Questing to FTB Quests, here's a step-by-step guide for migrating player data:

1. Open a world and execute the command /ftbq_import quests [flags]
2. The script will automatically create an imported_quests.nbt file in the config folder
3. Include this file in your next modpack update and ask players to execute /ftbq_import progress to transfer their data
4. If everything goes smoothly, your players will be able to continue playing with minimal progress loss

For Server Administrators and Players

If you're playing or administering a server with a modpack that's transitioning from Better Questing, be sure to execute the /ftbq_import progress command to transfer saved quest data to FTB Quests.

Important: Do not import quests and reward tables yourself, as this may break progress compatibility between different modpack versions!
