Completely Overhauled Enchanting
The enchanting system in Minecraft gets a fundamental update! Spells now appear as "locked" in the enchanting table until their corresponding enchanted books are placed in nearby chiseled bookshelves. Amethyst replaces lapis as the enchanting material.
Flexible Library Placement
No more strict requirements for bookshelf placement! By default, a 10-block radius around the enchanting table is allowed, opening up creative possibilities for library design. Regular decorative bookshelves no longer affect the enchanting process but can still beautify your new library.

Four New Enchantments
Displace (Mining Tools)
Breaks blocks efficiently in a 3x3 area, excluding ores. Teleports enemies randomly upon hit.
Skates (Boots)
Increases speed and slipperiness on ice. Configurable to work together with frost walker.
Shriek (Goat Horn)
Emits a sonically charged scream. Killing spreads sculk.
Return (Goat Horn)
Teleports back to a previously marked location after 3 seconds. Interrupted by movement or taking damage. Crouch to set the return point.
Other Changes
Certain item names have been changed: regular bookshelves are now called decorative bookshelves, while chiseled bookshelves are simply bookshelves. Both bookshelf types now drop without silk touch, as do ender chests.
Lapis has been completely removed from world generation since it lost its unique role. Gunpowder can now be crafted from glowstone dust and coal/charcoal (no longer requires looting). In creative mode, you can quickly apply enchantments by right-clicking an item with an enchanted book.
Planned Additions
Addition of new enchantments and visual effects from bookshelves containing enchanted books are being considered.
