Grim & Bleak - A Dark Dimension of Horror

Grim & Bleak is a horror modification that adds a new dimension called Limbo to the game. This is an extremely dark and oppressive place, filled with an atmosphere of fear and despair.

Accessing Limbo

To enter this dimension, you need to craft a Compass of Pains and activate a portal built from Chiseled Deepslate.

Resources and Equipment

The main ore you'll find in Limbo is Darksteel. This material serves as an equivalent to iron but has slightly better characteristics.

From Darksteel, you can create two types of armor:

Heavy Darksteel Armor - provides outstanding protection, even surpassing netherite armor, but significantly slows movement and requires more resources to craft.

Light Darksteel Armor - crafted from darksteel and Ripped Cloth (obtained from mobs). Available in red and black variants. This armor makes you lighter, reducing fall damage, increasing jump height, and speeding up movement.

Additionally, you can create various building blocks from darksteel for decorating your constructions.

Inhabitants of Limbo

In this dimension, you'll encounter various monsters - tortured souls aimlessly wandering in eternal darkness. Some will only scare you, others will chase and try to kill you, while some might send messages and stalk you secretly.

Warning: Death in Limbo means no way back... except for two methods.

Return Methods

First Method: Trading someone else's soul for your freedom. If you kill any living being from the normal world (animal or player not stuck in the dimension), you'll gain freedom and be teleported back through a painful process.

Second Method: Defeating the Gate Guardian - the mod's final boss. To do this, you need to find his arena (Dimensional Gate), then right-click with a Flesh Key to activate the lock and awaken the boss. After victory, the Gate Guardian drops the Dimensional Key, which will allow you to return to the normal world.

Thunder Sword

The Gate Guardian is a god, so to defeat him, you need to become his equal. For this, you must craft the Thunder Sword - the only weapon effective against this boss.
