Grim & Bleak (semi-Horror) - Complete Guide
Grim & Bleak is an atmospheric mod with horror elements that harmoniously combines frightening mechanics with gameplay features. The main innovation is the Limbo dimension, which at first glance appears as an absolutely dark and lifeless space, but you'll soon realize you're not alone there.
Despite the horror component, the mod offers various items, biomes, and mobs, mainly concentrated in Limbo. However, your actions in this dimension can have serious consequences for the ordinary world.

Technical Requirements
The mod requires geckolib API to work. True Darkness mod is also strongly recommended for complete immersion in the atmosphere, especially when using shaders.
How to Enter Limbo
To enter the Limbo dimension, you need to create a Compass of Pains and activate a portal made of Chiseled Deepslate.
Resources and Equipment
The main ore in Limbo is Darksteel, which serves as an analog to iron with improved characteristics. Two types of armor can be created from it:
Heavy armor provides outstanding protection (surpassing even netherite) but slows movement. Light armor made from darksteel and ripped cloth (obtained from mobs) is available in red and black variants, increases jump height, reduces fall damage, and speeds up movement.
Endgame Equipment: Carbon Blood
The pinnacle of development in the mod is the Carbon Blood set, including a complete set of armor and tools.
The creation process is complex: first, carbon ingots are made from a darksteel plate, coal, and withered apples, then dried blood is obtained by smelting blood bottles, and finally - blood-infused steel ingots.
Tools have high efficiency (surpassing netherite), are repaired with blood bottles on an anvil, and give a brief Haste effect when using the right mouse button.
Carbon Blood Armor
Each piece of armor individually protects from the Wither effect and instantly extinguishes fire. The full set applies Wither to attackers and activates special abilities when consuming a blood bottle: Strength II, Speed II, Saturation, and Bloodlust with instant regeneration, and also significantly restores armor durability.
Carbon Blood Sword
A powerful weapon with a 1 in 5 chance of critical hit, giving the Bloodlust effect. With this effect, the Blood Dash ability (Shift + LMB) becomes available, teleporting to a target within 20 blocks and dealing massive damage with the Wither effect.
Inhabitants of Limbo
The dimension is inhabited by various monsters - tortured souls aimlessly wandering in eternal darkness. Some only scare the player, others pursue and kill, while others may stalk and send messages.
Curse and Return Methods
Death in Limbo means eternal imprisonment, but there are two ways to escape:
First method - exchange someone else's soul for your freedom. Killing any living creature from the ordinary world (animal or player) will allow you to return through a painful process.
Second method - defeat the Gate Guardian, the mod's final boss. To do this, you need to find the Dimensional Gate arena, wake the guardian with a Flesh Key, and defeat him to obtain the Dimensional Key for return.
To defeat the divine Gate Guardian, you need to create the Thunder Sword - the only weapon effective against him.
Dimensional Boundary Breach
Killing the Gate Guardian and using the Dimensional Key destroys the boundaries between Limbo and the ordinary world, which may lead to the appearance of creatures that don't belong in reality.
