HBM Nuclear Tech Mod: Community Edition
This is an ambitious project to create a full-fledged port of the NTM mod for Minecraft version 1.12.2. Our goal is to achieve complete functional compatibility with the original 1.7.10 version, provide additional integration with the 1.12 mod ecosystem, and significantly improve performance. Development is conducted within the Warfactory modpack.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the mod ready for survival?
Currently - no. The mod was poorly maintained for version 1.12.2 for a long time and lacks most of the content. We need to port and test content, development of which will take approximately 1-2 years. Current builds are intended exclusively for testing. We invite you to our GitHub where we publish nightly builds.
How does it differ from the Extended version?
Extended worlds are completely incompatible! We rewrote 50% to 75% of the entire mod code, porting every available feature. The volume of changes is so significant that it's difficult to track. We recommend checking the issues on GitHub where we track missing/added content.
Why not improve the Extended edition?
Alcater hasn't updated his version for almost a year. His implementation contains many performance bottlenecks and strange solutions in implementing some features. Additionally, he refused to cooperate with us, so we decided to create a fork and work separately.
If the mod is in development, why publish it?
We need bug reports. It's obvious that without presence on popular platforms, our audience is significantly limited. We want to inform players that work is underway on a quality port and invite them to help us through bug reports or directly through pull requests. We're always happy to welcome new project contributors.
Will there be changes for specific modpacks?
No! Although the port started as part of the Warfactory project, it's now developing as a standalone mod. All changes are aimed at ensuring compatibility, stability, or simplifying development for modpack creators, but direct changes for specific packs won't be implemented.
Planning a port to versions 1.1x/1.2x?
No, there are no such plans. We must focus on one version at a time. Fragmentation and the huge number of separate teams that worked on this mod previously hindered successful porting. Therefore, we're concentrating efforts on one version.
