Husbandry

Husbandry represents the animal care module within the Harvest Festival project. This mod introduces deeper and more realistic care for tamed creatures—maintaining their happy state requires attention and regular upkeep.

Gameplay Features

Several innovations are included for farm life: domestic animals are given a limited lifespan, some spend several in-game days in a pregnant state—just like in the real world. Chickens also create nests where they lay eggs, and players can use incubators to hatch them.

Pigs roam the farm territory and sometimes "discover" truffles hidden in the ground. Over time, pets' productivity increases: give them fruits and vegetables as special treats—this helps raise the animal's satisfaction level, and they will produce more eggs, milk, or cheese (depending on the creature type).

Custom Trait Management

Mod functionality is based on a stable trait system assigned separately to each entity type. You can also expand its capabilities—configure it so that product yield applies to virtually any hostile or neutral creatures. Don't limit yourself to traditional herds—use the system to create useful mechanics outside the usual farm boundaries. Integration via simple JSON or KubeJS is available, and every assigned trait expands gameplay and interaction possibilities.

Guidebook

An educational guidebook is included to help newcomers master all the changes right from the start.

For even more efficiency, installing the Daydreamer mod is recommended—it improves fast time-skipping mechanics: quick sleep allows more reset opportunities linked to your animals' personal development levels. Consistent daily starts become the foundation for highly balanced gameplay.

At present, support for Alex Mobs is already implemented—an additional touch from publisher kevini_i. For natural compatibility between Husbandry and other creatures, the author suggests creating your own or tweaking the existing datapack.
