Infernal Expansion 1.0
Infernal Expansion is a world generation datapack that significantly expands the possibilities of the Nether dimension while maintaining the balance of the original game.
Important Note
This datapack has no relation to the modification with the same name "Infernal Expansion".
Main Changes and Additions
This datapack introduces the following significant improvements:
- Addition of two completely new biomes to the Nether!
- Increase of the Nether dimension height from 128 to 256 blocks
- Modernization of existing Nether biomes
- Reworked biome placement
- Completely updated generation of the entire Nether dimension!
Updated Nether Generation
World generation in the Nether is radically different from the standard version. Now the entire dimension has acquired a more cavernous character with frequent open spaces. The height of the Nether and the build limit have been increased by 128 blocks, now being 256 and 384 blocks respectively.
Improvements to Existing Biomes
Each standard Nether biome (excluding the wastelands) receives one or two additional features.
Crimson Forest
Crimson forests now abound with weeping vines, and the ceilings of these biomes consist of nether wart blocks.
Warped Forest
The ceilings of warped forests now partially consist of warped warts, and partially of netherrack.
Soul Sand Valley
Soul sand valleys now have patches of netherrack on the surface and ceiling, as well as an additional amount of bones that do not form fossils. These additional bones can hang from the ceiling or stick out of the ground.
Basalt Deltas
The ceilings of basalt deltas are now filled with basalt pillars descending downward.
New Nether Biomes
Infernal Expansion adds two new biomes, increasing the total number of Nether biomes to seven!
Desolate Dunes
Desolate dunes is a biome resembling a desert. Most of it consists of red sand and red sandstone. Throughout the biome, there are patches of dripstone and various blocks resembling dirt with dead bushes on top. Here you can find rare skeleton horses and zoglins, as well as regular skeletons and zombified piglins.
Deepslate Depths
Deepslate depths is a biome most similar to deepslate caves in the ordinary world. The biome consists of a base of deepslate with stripes of blackstone, tuff, and polished basalt. Rarely, deepslate iron ore can be found here. Wither skeletons can spawn here, but only in small groups and almost never reaching the limit of 70 mobs.
