Insights

Insights is a powerful Minecraft plugin that allows scanning arbitrary areas and setting placement restrictions for blocks. It offers a flexible limit configuration system, including group limits, individual (permission-based) limits, and limits for static entities.

Key Features

The plugin supports restrictions not only for all placeable materials but also for the following static entities:

• Item Frames
• Glow Item Frames
• Armor Stands
• Paintings
• End Crystals

Insights uses asynchronous scanning with the mapreduce design pattern, which prevents overloading the main server thread with material counting. This ensures high performance even when working with large areas.

Extensions and Addons

The plugin supports various extensions that must be placed in the plugins/ folder:

• InsightsWorldEditExtension — blocks materials when using WorldEdit and supports all Insights limits

Additional addons define regions for applying restrictions. When placing a block in such a region, all blocks in that area are first counted, and then the established limits are enforced. Regions are cached for performance optimization.
