JJThunder King of the Nether
JJThunder King of the Nether is a specialized version of the JJThunder King of the Hills mod that completely transforms the Nether landscape while leaving the Overworld unchanged.
Key Features
The mod fundamentally changes the Nether's structure by expanding its vertical boundaries. The height now increases to 640 blocks instead of the standard 128, while the depth drops to -128 blocks. Lava oceans are located at y=-114.
New World Structure
The traditional Nether generation is completely replaced by a unique system that divides the space into two main zones:
- Underlands (-128 to 350) - extensive cave systems with lava aquifers
- Overlands (400 to 640) - mountain ranges instead of flat bedrock ceiling
Between these zones (350-400), a smooth transition is created, primarily consisting of netherrack.
Travel Features
Portals to the Nether now teleport players to the bottom of the world (negative coordinates), creating an exciting journey upward to the overlands.
Technical Requirements and Compatibility
- Minimum RAM: 4 GB
- Compatible with biome mods (Better Nether and similar)
- Incompatible with Incedium and other data packs that alter Nether generation
Important Notes
The mod is incomplete and intended for use with mods that add new biomes. Do not use it in existing worlds - this may damage them.
