Main Features

The JSON The Fly mod provides a convenient tool for creating block and item tag files in JSON format. You no longer need to manually write code - simply place the required items in a chest and sneak-right-click the chest using the special Chest Reader device.

To create nested tags, use the unique Tag Placeholder item. Give it the name of the desired tag, for example "minecraft:wool", and it will add a reference to the #minecraft:wool tag to your created tag.

If you rename the Chest Reader in an anvil, this will change the name of the created file when using the device.

File Management

All created files are saved in the config/jstf/ folder. To use them, you'll need to move or copy them to any datapack of your choice.

Planned Updates

The developer plans to add the following features in future versions:

• Adding blocks to a tag by simply right-clicking them in the world
• Copying a single internal item/block name to the clipboard
• Ability to add new items/blocks to existing tags
• Infinite Chest for creating very long tags
• Obtaining placeholder items for all tags that an item/block belongs to
• Viewing an inventory with all items/blocks contained in a tag
