Keep Some Inventory

Isn't it annoying when after death all your items end up far away and surrounded by danger?

With this data pack, this problem becomes a thing of the past! Now when you die, you keep your combat equipment - weapons, tools, and armor - with you!

About the Modification

Personally, I don't like playing with the keepInventory rule enabled because it creates a feeling of unfairness - you can go to dangerous places without the risk of losing anything. This data pack returns real risk to dangerous areas, but still allows you to use the best equipment that you spent many hours creating and enchanting.

Main Features

  • When you die, you keep all your equipment, but you lose resources
  • Your items don't scatter - they remain exactly where you died, nothing flies into lava or off cliffs
  • At the death location, you can collect all accumulated experience, and it's not limited to about 7 levels as in the standard version of Minecraft
  • After death, your items and experience disappear after 10 minutes instead of the standard 5 minutes

Compatibility

  • This pack most likely won't work together with mods that create graves or any other modifications that affect items upon death
  • The pack uses standard item tags and common c tags used by mod loaders, so it may be compatible with some mods - but no guarantees
  • You can change the list of items that will be lost upon death by opening the zip/jar file and editing the tag in the file data/pskeep2/tags/item/drop.json

CraftBukkit Servers (Spigot, Paper, Purpur, and others)

This data pack works with CraftBukkit, provided that you set /gamerule keepInventory true in each world, since CraftBukkit has separate game rules for each world (The Nether and The End are considered separate worlds). If you don't set the keepInventory rule to true for any world or dimension, the standard Minecraft death and item drop behavior will apply.
