This modification adds the Kelpie entity—a shapeshifting aquatic spirit from Scottish folklore—to the game. These mysterious beings dwell in lakes and other bodies of water, most often appearing as horses but also capable of taking human form. There are numerous variations in the depiction of Kelpies, but all agree on one thing: beware, as these creatures are hostile toward humans. The Kelpie mod adheres to the canonical representation of the shape-shifting spirit. Kelpies look identical to vanilla Minecraft horses and spawn along riverbanks, ocean shores, and other aquatic biomes. Attempting to mount one will lead to serious consequences: you won't be able to dismount, and the Kelpie will attempt to teleport itself and the rider into deep water. If no suitable body of water is nearby, both the monster and its victim will begin to take starvation damage until at least one of them perishes. The only ways to break free are to kill the creature or fall victim to its effects yourself.

The concept includes ambitious refinement plans:

• Integrating customizable parameters
• Altering the visual representation of the entity after its true nature is discovered
• Adding a warning alert upon attempting to mount a Kelpie
