Knowlogy Book
Development Stage: Alpha
The modification is at the alpha development stage. This means it may be unstable, does not contain all planned features, and will undergo significant changes in its operation during development.
What is the Book of Knowledge?
Knowlogy Book adds a special knowledge book to the game that displays information from the official Minecraft Wiki. The unique feature of this book is that it takes into account game progression - new pages unlock as the player completes achievements.
The main goal of the mod is to provide the player with access to extensive information without overwhelming them with huge item lists and text walls from the very beginning of the game. At the same time, the rich documentation from the wiki becomes available exactly when it is most useful.
How to get the book?
- First time crafting a crafting table (triggers an achievement)
- Craft from a book and a bottle o' enchanting in any shape
- Find in creative mode in the "Tools and Utilities" tab
- Using commands:
/get-lavender-book knowlogy:knowlogy_bookor/give @s knowlogy:knowlogy_book(the latter command works only on Fabric)
Features
Unlike standard recipe viewers, Knowlogy Book focuses on demonstrating relationships between items and explaining game mechanics. It is recommended to use it together with mods like EMI and JEI, which automatically show recipes.
Extensibility
Content is added through resource packs that come with the mod and are divided by game versions. Any user can expand functionality by creating their own resource pack with additional pages and categories.
Dependencies
Required for operation: owo Lib and Lavender. For Fabric, Fabric API is additionally needed; for NeoForge - Sinytra Connector and Forgified Fabric API.
Possible Issues
If the book is empty - check the resource pack list and make sure the built-in Knowlogy resource packs are enabled (they contain "Knowlogy" in the name and have the book icon). On NeoForge, make sure Lavender is installed through launcher filters for Fabric mods.
