This modification introduces a unique item to the game — the Lava Sponge, as the name suggests. This innovative item performs a similar function to a regular sponge, but instead of water, it absorbs lava, making it extremely useful during explorations in the Nether.

It becomes particularly handy when searching for Ancient Debris, which often generates in close proximity to lava lakes. After successfully absorbing lava, the sponge transitions to a "wet" state and requires drying before it can be used again.

To dry the Lava Sponge, it needs to be placed in the Overworld, where it gradually cools down. It's important to note that harvesting a cooled lava sponge requires a diamond-tipped pickaxe. Also worth considering is that these sponges possess resistance to destruction when in contact with lava or fire.
