Librarian

Librarian is a Fabric mod that significantly enhances the standard saved hotbar system in Minecraft. This modification serves as an improved version of the author's previous creation — Hotbars+.

Protection Against Accidental Data Loss

A common issue with the default saved hotbar system is the risk of accidentally overwriting stored item sets. Librarian addresses this problem by automatically comparing item data before saving. If the system detects a mismatch with already saved data, a confirmation prompt appears, helping prevent unintentional loss of valuable items.

Unlimited Capacity

Never worry about insufficient space for saved hotbars again! The mod introduces a page system allowing storage of practically unlimited item sets — as many as you might need during gameplay.

This system is fully compatible with vanilla Minecraft, so if you decide to stop using the mod, you won't need to perform any data transfer or conversion operations.

Customization of Saved Hotbars

For convenient organization and distribution of hotbars, Librarian implements a metadata system compatible with vanilla gameplay. This feature allows assigning custom names to saved hotbars, adding descriptions, and even specifying a list of authors. Names and descriptions support both standard chat formatting codes and the advanced MiniMessage formatting system.

All metadata can be configured directly in the game using the client-side command /librarian meta. Users can also rename hotbar pages by simply clicking the text in the creative inventory menu.

In some Minecraft versions (e.g., pre-1.14.4), client-side command libraries are currently unavailable, requiring manual changes using an NBT editor. NBTExplorer is recommended for this purpose.

Multiple Version Support

Librarian supports a wide range of Minecraft versions—from the oldest 1.12.2 to the newest 1.21.7. Legacy Fabric or Ornithe installation is required for older versions. The mod author strives to support the maximum possible number of game versions.

Installation
