Librarian

Librarian is a Fabric modification that significantly enhances the saved hotbar system capabilities. This project serves as the successor to the popular Hotbars+ mod, created by the same developer.

Protection Against Accidental Overwrite

One of the main issues with the standard saved hotbar system is the risk of accidentally overwriting valuable item sets by pressing the wrong key. The mod addresses this problem with an intelligent system: before saving changes, Librarian compares the data of new items with already saved ones. If discrepancies are detected, a confirmation prompt appears, preventing unintentional loss of important items.

Unlimited Hotbar Space

The page system in Librarian completely eliminates the limit on the number of saved item sets. Now you have the ability to store as many quick access panel configurations as you might need for all your projects and intentions.

All data is saved in a format compatible with the vanilla version of the game. This means you can continue using your saved sets even after removing the mod, without any need for conversion or data transfer.

Customization of Saved Sets

To improve organization and usability, the mod introduces an enhanced metadata system. You can assign any name to your saved hotbars, add descriptions, and even specify a list of authors. Both standard chat color codes and extended MiniMessage formatting syntax are supported.

Metadata configuration is available through the client-side command , or by simply clicking on the page name in the creative mode interface. For some early versions, external NBT editors are required, which is typical for releases before the availability of corresponding libraries. We strongly recommend NBTExplorer for such tasks.

Broad Version Support

The developer aims to ensure compatibility with the widest possible range of Minecraft versions. The mod supports releases from the classic 1.12.2 (through Legacy Fabric or Ornithe) to the current 1.21.5 edition. Librarian's architecture is built with a focus on universality, minimizing dependence on version-specific code to guarantee long-term functionality.
