LoadMyChunks

Load My Chunks is a standalone chunk loader mod that safely operates on servers and helps reduce lag by disabling problematic world areas.

How It Works

Instead of processing all blocks in a dimension at once, the system now works with each chunk separately. The execution time of operations in chunks is tracked only when necessary.

Chunks are force-loaded only if they contain at least one chunk loader. If a chunk's processing time exceeds the server-set limit, that chunk stops being force-loaded and enters a dormant state for a certain period.

Dormant chunks automatically activate after the waiting period ends and receive a brief grace period where execution time checks are disabled. This allows multi-block structures (such as complex mechanisms from Mekanism) to initialize correctly after reloading.

Chunk loaders function regardless of whether the player is online.

Detailed information about chunk loading and performance can be obtained using a special chunk meter.

There is also a lag meter block that allows tracking chunk performance directly in the game world.

Technical Requirements

Load My Chunks uses Architectury for cross-platform compatibility.

Java 8 is supported for Minecraft version 1.16.5, Java 17 for versions 1.18.2-1.20.4, and Java 21 for versions 1.20.6 and above. It is recommended to use the appropriate Java version for stable operation.

Supported Loaders

Forge and Fabric are fully supported in versions 1.20.4 and below. In versions 1.20.6 and above, Forge is replaced by NeoForge.
