Create your own spell book from magical pages scattered throughout the world!

This mod was created as an entry for Modfest 1.21, although it doesn't exactly match the main theme of "Time, Technology and Throwbacks". It might not be obvious externally, but it truly represents a throwback - to Modfest 1.17, when I had the idea for a magic mod based on books but put it aside.

At that time, I didn't understand how to combine everything into an engaging gaming experience, but now (three years later), in the middle of the current Modfest, the idea finally matured in my head, and I wanted to work on it. So, let's cast some spells!

Mod Overview

The main concept of the mod is using spell books, which simultaneously serve as a container for magical pages and as an actual book that can be read and used to cast the spells contained within.

Magical pages can be found in the world - currently they appear as loot in dungeons, desert and jungle temples, as well as in strongholds.

They can be inserted into a spell book using the Magic Table, along with some useful items like Bookmarks.

Then use the spell book to read about the spell, gather the necessary ingredients and fulfill the requirements, if any, then hold the casting button!

Reading a spell

Some spells require placing Magical Symbols on the ground, which will define the spell's area of effect. Simply right-click on the ground with Lapis Lazuli to place them.

Placing symbols

Voila! You've cast a spell!
