Malazan Mod
The Magical World of Malazan Book of the Fallen
This modification project is in active development and aims to recreate the unique magical system from the cult series "Malazan Book of the Fallen". At the current stage, the first warren - Telas, the realm of Fire - has been implemented. As expected from a ModFest project for version 1.17, many elements still need refinement, but development plans for the mod already exist.
Important: The mod requires Fabric API version 34.9 to work.
The Path of Telas Mage
The path to mastering fire magic begins with the search for a special artifact in bastion treasures. You need to find a "warm" tablet in treasure chests - the key to penetrating the secrets of Telas.
To awaken magical abilities, you must perform an initiation ritual. Take the found tablet in your main hand, stand in fire, and make sure you have less than 4 armor protection. These conditions apply to all rituals of this summoning.
Powers of the Fire Mage
After successful initiation, you become a follower of Telas and gain access to basic magic. By pressing the Z key, you can ignite blocks and mobs around you. If you hold Shift with the same key, a temporary portal to the Telas warren itself will open before you.
Dangers of the Fire Refuge
Be extremely careful when visiting the domains of Telas! The temperature here is so high that you will constantly burn, and Flares move chaotically across the endless landscape - exploding entities capable of removing all effects from the character. It is highly recommended to stock up on fire resistance potions and avoid contact with these dangerous creatures.
Mastering Higher Magic
To unlock greater power of Telas, a second ritual is required. Stand on a block of ancient debris or netherite that must be burning, holding the tablet in your main hand and a blaze rod in your offhand. This complex rite (deliberately complicated by the developers) will open access to a spell activated by the X key - you will have to discover its effect yourself.
The last, third ritual, almost repeats the previous one, but requires surrounding the netherite block with lanterns. And one more important warning - never drop the tablet into fire. The consequences can be fatal.
