MaLiLib plus

MaLiLib is a specialized library for client-side mods that contains shared code used by dependent modifications. It includes various configuration settings and data serialization methods, an advanced key management system, tools for working with screen interfaces and graphic elements, as well as additional utility classes and methods designed for mods created based on MaLiLib.

The mod's name originated from shortening the phrase "masa's Litemod Library" - I must note some lack of imagination in choosing the name. Initially, MaLiLib was developed specifically for masa's client mods during the Minecraft 1.12.x era for LiteLoader.

Which Mods Require MaLiLib Installation

For all client-side mods from masa, starting from specific releases, MaLiLib is required:

  • Item Scroller - versions 0.14.0 and higher
  • Litematica - any builds dated June 11, 2018 and later
  • MiniHUD - versions 0.17.0 and higher
  • TellMe - versions 0.6.1 and higher
  • Tweakeroo - versions 0.8.0 and higher

The library is also required by many other client-side mods from other authors created around MaLiLib. Each mod project or description of such modifications typically contains information about dependencies for proper operation.

Important Installation Features

Attention: Make sure to correctly select the mod version corresponding to your Minecraft version and mod loader! Both Fabric and Forge releases are available! Pay attention to the specified loader in tags or file name when downloading!

Archive names are strictly formatted and display all key characteristics: malilib-<mod-loader>-<Minecraft version>-<library version>.jar

Example of proper naming: malilib-fabric-1.19.2-0.13.0.jar

Required MaLiLib versions for specific modifications may be indicated in their changelogs. To ensure full compatibility, download the newest releases of all dependent elements corresponding to the same development era.

Be especially careful when installing outdated mod versions - different stages of library development may have contained conflicting changes. Releases in the 0.9.x and 0.10.x series for Minecraft 1.12.2, 1.14.x, 1.15.x and some 1.16.x required exact version matching, as well as the later development strategy starting from MaLiLib 0.50.0, where many aspects systematically changed between updates and only version 1.0.0 brought radical stable quality. Always aim to obtain interconnected packages that were released around the same time.
