Manhunt: Fabric
A mod that recreates the famous Manhunt game mode by Dream in Minecraft, but specifically adapted for the Fabric mod loader and available completely free of charge.
Key Features
The entire gameplay is managed through built-in Minecraft commands. The mod adds two new commands: /speedrunner for managing the runner and /hunters for working with hunters.
How the Mode Works
If you're not familiar with Dream's Manhunt series on YouTube, we highly recommend watching these videos for a complete understanding of the mechanics.
Runner Management:
- Assign a player as runner using
/speedrunner set <player> - Check the current runner via
/speedrunner get - Reset the runner status with
/speedrunner clear
Hunter Management:
- Add hunters via
/hunters add <player> - Clear the hunter list using
/hunters clear - View current hunters through
/hunters get
Implementation Features
Unlike the original plugin, this mod uses the lodestone compass mechanic added in Minecraft 1.16. The mod is fully customizable - all parameters can be changed through the configuration file, where detailed comments explain each option.
A configuration screen via Cloth Config has also been added, which can be opened using Mod Menu (client-side only).
Installation
On Server
- Create a FabricMC server following the instructions on the official website
- Place the mod in the "mods" folder along with Fabric API
- Start the server - a configuration file will be automatically created
- Configure parameters according to your preferences
- Restart the server
On Local Network
- Install FabricMC following the official instructions
- Add the mod to the "mods" folder along with ModMenu and Fabric API
- Open Mod Menu, find this mod and open settings
- Configure the mod through the convenient interface (all parameters come with tooltips)
- Create a new world
- Open the world to local network (cheats may need to be enabled)
- Use the commands described above to start the game
