Mining Quarries Mod
This modification introduces a unique block called the Quarry, which allows automating the extraction of valuable resources into the gameplay.
Block Creation
To craft the Quarry, the following components are required:
- 3 units of cobblestone
- Water bucket
- Redstone
- Lava bucket
- Two cauldrons
- 1 hopper
Quarry Operating Principles
The Quarry is a directional block with a 9×9 slot inventory. A unique feature is the ability to combine multiple Quarries to work into a single container.
Resource extraction occurs under three conditions:
- The chunk is loaded in the world
- The Quarry is facing a container (chest, barrel, etc.)
- The pickaxe used has more than 1 durability point
Setup and Usage
Setting up the Quarry involves several straightforward steps:
- Place the block in the desired direction, ensuring it faces a container
- Insert a pickaxe into the central slot of the inventory
- Configure item filtering if necessary (see section below)
- Monitor tool durability and replace before complete wear
Filtration System
The 9×9 Quarry inventory offers a flexible filtering system. All slots except the central one are used to configure extraction. By default, the whitelist is active – only items specified in the filter are collected.
To switch to blacklist mode, place a redstone torch in the slot below the central pickaxe slot. When using the Silk Touch enchantment, be sure to place corresponding block variants in the filters.
Tool Specifications
The modification features a thoughtfully designed system where each pickaxe type affects work speed and potential resources:

Base resources for all pickaxe types remain: cobblestone, granite, andesite, and diorite.
Enchantment Compatibility
Integration with vanilla enchantments significantly improves Quarry efficiency:
- Efficiency: each level reduces cooldown by 0.1 seconds
- Unbreaking: standard operation, slowing tool wear
- Fortune: each level adds 1 extra resource chance per cycle
- Silk Touch: corresponding block variants are collected
- Mending: eliminates durability loss with sufficient experience
For versions prior to 2.0.0
In earlier mod versions, special Quarry structures were built, requiring cauldrons with water and lava, item frames, and hoppers. The classic filtration system worked by placing items in frames on lava cauldrons, allowing configuration of up to 4 desired resources.
