This mod invites you to dive into the swirling dreams of the deceased and put an end to their stagnation. Penetrate their dreams, help break the ties that bind them to the world of the living, and give them one final performance so they can finally pass into the afterlife.

Collecting Echoes Between Worlds: Dreamspecks and Dreamsnares

In the depths of darkness hides the Veric Dreamsnare - a sculk plant that tries to grasp everything the sculk can sense. Buried in ancient ruins, they often hold Dreamseeds.

In sleep, the mind dreams: memories dissolve into the void, forming a connection between the living and the dead. When the dream ends, the mind returns to the waking world, but an echo of this connection remains in the form of a Dreamspeck - ephemeral and short-lived, but still existing.

Inside the seeds of Dreamsnares are contained Dreamspecks, absorbed by the sculk but somehow preserved in this process.

The Slumber Veil: Entering the Dreams of the Dead

By consuming a Dreamseed with soul fire, you revive the connection between life and dream: burning souls try to break out of the trap and go to the greater purgatory beyond.

However, this connection alone is not enough: it only lets through rare glimpses of soul. To properly use this connection, it needs to be bound to the world by connecting it with a dreaming mind.

By building a Slumbersocket, you create a suitable place for a dreamer: an Eye of Ender. Peering through the flame and shell, it can glimpse that Dream. The Eye will close, absorbing the dream's echo and falling into a deep Slumber.

When the Veil descends beneath the resting Eye, a gateway opens to the swirling realm beyond.

Dream Whirls: Swirling Paths Between Worlds

Stepping through the Veil, you enter the Eye's dream. Isolated from other dreams, surrounded by vague shadows of Joyful Memories and illuminated by the ever-present Nova above.

Inside the Dream Whirl are gateways to unseen rooms. When opened, they eject Memory Foam, forming new rooms to explore and often new gateways beyond.

Note: Dream Whirl world generation is still quite primitive and may change in the future

Since all connections to the waking world are temporarily weakened, the rules of reality subtly change. Dreamers will not experience hunger; and feats that were usually almost impossible in life now depend only on a sufficiently Joyful mind.

Spell Cards: The Power of Joy

Note: Spell Cards are not yet fully implemented and cannot currently be obtained in Survival mode

Spell Cards allow the user to perform magical feats at the cost of Joy. By placing Spell Cards on top of each other, you can form a Spell Deck. Using the Deck will cast spells from it. By combining the right cards, players can increase overall effectiveness.

Joy is passively restored inside Dream Whirls and can be restored outside of them by consuming a Mirthdew Vial.

Encores

By starting an Encore in the dream, you can free the souls from their sleep.
