Mobvotes Sniffer — a modification introducing the Sniffer, the creature from the Minecraft 2022 best mob poll. It roams around locations searching for seeds by burying its head in the ground. You can lure it with flowers, and breeding requires seeds — available every 10-15 minutes.
Sniffers are rideable creatures, though not particularly fast. To ride them, equip a saddle and hold a flower in hand. They can carry up to six players at once and navigate water just as well as land.
Sniffers search for seeds every 5 minutes. Under certain conditions and with a mate present, they may lay eggs, which are found only in submerged ruin chests by default — generally, they do not naturally spawn in biomes, but in-game configuration settings can alter this: – In Fabric, there’s a configurable option enabling biome-specific spawns; – For Forge, you can adjust trigger spawn codes via biome-tag json files and biome mod rules (called mobvotes_modifier).
