Modern Beta for Forge 1.12.2

Returning to Minecraft's Roots

This mod brings iconic world generation algorithms from early Minecraft versions to the modern 1.12.2 build. Originally created for a friend's server, the project has grown into a full port of the Fabric version with additional improvements and fixes. Expect only bug fixes and minor enhancements in the future.

Configure ecosystem distribution:

Server Usage

In server.properties file specify:

• 'levelType' parameter as 'modernbeta' (without quotes)
• Generation settings in 'generator-settings' field (can be created via in-game interface)

Problematic Mods

• Galacticraft - disables sky and fog visual effects
• Muon - incompatible
• Cave Generator - disable biome replacement options if experiencing lag

Important Notes

For accurate generation in non-Beta modes, first select built-in presets - simply changing the chunk source won't update noise settings.

Why Only 1.12.2?

Development for modern Minecraft versions is not planned. For alternative solutions, check out Moderner Beta.
