Modest Beginnings (Discontinued)

Attention: This modification has been discontinued. All its features have been moved to the Modest Mining mod.

Modest Beginnings completely redesigns the early game stage in Minecraft, making it more realistic and challenging.

Main Changes

The key innovation is the inability to break trees and planks with bare hands. Now you'll need a special tool - a flint hatchet - to obtain wood.

New Items and Mechanics

• Fibre - basic crafting resource made from various plants
• Flint Hatchet - first tool for obtaining wood
• Fibrous Bundle - useful storage item
• Rocks - found throughout the world and used in various recipes

How to Start the Game

To gain access to wood, collect fibre from tall grass, ferns, or flowers (3 units of any of these plants), then craft a flint hatchet. Rocks can be found in nature and used together with cobblestone to create additional resources.
