The Modest Magic modification significantly expands gameplay by introducing long-awaited features from version 1.18 along with engaging elements from Minecraft Dungeons and an original soul interaction mechanic.

Developers have integrated several key innovations from the Caves & Cliffs update into Minecraft 1.16.5:
- New world blocks: calcite, tuff, and all associated building elements
- Amethyst geology: complete geodes with active crystals, including amethyst buds in four growth stages and tinted glass
- Mountain inhabitants: goat horn that marks raid participants when used and produces characteristic sound

Tactical armaments:
- Wind horn - throws creatures into the air
- Satchel and shock powder satchel for strategic placement
- Lightning staff creates electrical discharges using accumulated souls
Magical defensive and offensive tools:
- Harvester inflicts massive damage to surrounding monsters
- Soul healer restores health to players and mobs
- Iron hide amulet provides resistance
- Updraft tome and light feather for aerial maneuvers
💫 Soul Mechanics
Next to the quick access panel appears a special soul bar that fills up with soul-gathering weapons or soul knives. Soul energy powers various artifacts, including the Shadow Shifter that grants the player shadow form.

Resources and capabilities:
- Tome of rituals allows studying altar recipes
- Magic system with various ingots (infused, blazing, spellbound)
- Unique hearts - crystalline and encrusted - for health restoration
- Rubies with their own deposits in deserts
- Altars, whispering stones, shadow stones, and soul eyes
Technical details: The modification is compatible with the caves and cliffs backport by Blackgear (with the ability to disable conflicting functions in configuration). Neapolitan is recommended for proper functioning of the love medallion.
🎮 Compatibility and Settings
Amethyst possesses the appropriate gems/amethyst tag for interaction with other mods like Supplementaries (amethyst arrows) and Chimes (amethyst wind chimes). Geodes are created with tuff instead of smooth basalt for compatibility with Quark.
