This mod introduces steel into the game and expands the uses of coal.

Coal and charcoal chunks now smelt one item each and can be crafted from the corresponding type of coal. Coal powder is made from coal using a stonecutter and can be smelted into coke chunks. Coke chunks are used to create coke, which is an excellent fuel source. When coke is combined with iron, it produces crude iron, which is then smelted into steel ingots in a blast furnace.

Steel can be added to almost any iron items via a smithing table. Steel nuggets are obtained by smelting steel gear and are used to craft steel ingots. Flint and steel has been renamed to "Flint and Iron".

Steel gear is similar to iron in characteristics but slightly stronger: it has higher durability and includes armor toughness and knockback resistance. It requires a smithing table for crafting, as steel is intended as an upgrade to iron, not a replacement. Steel blocks, such as doors, are more durable compared to their iron counterparts.
