Modular Pipes

The mod is in early development stages and currently does not implement gameplay functions. The release was made specifically for participation in the ModOff competition. Downloading versions prior to 0.1.x is done at your own risk!

Key features of the modification:

• Regular and speed pipes are not block entities and do not update every game tick
• Modular pipes do not transport items directly; they serve as containers for installing modules and processing them
• Item transportation (and in the future, fluids) is handled through a special system class not directly tied to blocks. This theoretically allows operation outside loaded chunks, though this feature is planned to be disabled via settings

The computational aspect of the mod utilizes caching of pipe nodes and connections with advanced relationship structure, eliminating the need to recalculate routes for each transported object.

Development goal - creating a server-optimized system while simultaneously providing visual appeal for the client side (in the future, items will be visualized inside pipes).

Element functionality:

Basic pipe (gray) - foundational pipe for building connections, does not support intersections Basic pipe (golden) - accelerated version with double movement speed increase Modular pipe, Tier 0 - mandatory connection element at pipeline intersection points Modular pipe, Tiers 1-6 - correspond to tier 0 with additional module slots (characteristics depend on tier) Modular pipe, Tier 7 - enhanced version of tier 6 with tenfold movement acceleration Extraction module - at 20-tick intervals extracts one object from connected container and sends to network Item blocking module - controls object flow direction with configurable operation modes (block incoming, outgoing, or all objects)
