Monolith

Since November 2020, mysterious metal monoliths have been appearing around the world. Now this enigmatic discovery is available in Minecraft! This modification adds these unusual structures to the game world that can be found during exploration.

Monolith Generation

After installing the mod, mysterious monoliths will appear in your Minecraft worlds. They can serve as landmarks or be a source of valuable resources. These structures generate in all biomes when creating new chunks in the Overworld, Nether, and End (note that monoliths will not appear in already generated chunks).

Monolith Materials

  • In the Overworld, monoliths are usually made of iron, but in badlands biomes they can be golden or iron, and in oceans - made of prismarine
  • In the Nether, structures are created from quartz, with occasional golden variants
  • In the End, monoliths are made of obsidian, and in rare cases - from bedrock

Spawn Frequency

Monoliths appear quite rarely:

  • In the Overworld: approximately one per 30×30 chunk area
  • In oceans: less frequently, approximately one per 36×36 chunks
  • In badlands and deserts: more frequently, approximately one per 20×20 chunks
  • In the Nether: standard frequency - one per 30×30 chunks
  • In the End: less frequently, approximately one per 35×35 chunks

Generation Conditions

Monolith height varies from 2 to 6 blocks. They spawn on solid blocks but can generate in any liquid. In the Overworld, monoliths (except prismarine ones) rarely appear completely submerged in water. In the Nether, structures can be located in lava. In the End, monoliths sometimes generate on the main island, but this happens extremely rarely.

The mod is compatible with Biomes O' Plenty, however generation frequency and types may differ slightly.
