Music Box Mod Overview
What Does This Mod Do?
Music Box is a unique Minecraft add-on that allows you to play any music from YouTube through a special music disc placed in a jukebox. The mod's key feature is full support for multiplayer servers – you can enjoy music with friends, create atmospheric background sound, or organize your own radio station right in the game!
Main Features
Once you have the unique music disc in your hands, a right-click opens the following configuration options:
- Paste a direct YouTube video link for playback
- Set playback duration in seconds (optional, but enables redstone compatibility)
- Name the disc for easy identification
- Adjust the effect radius: standard is 30 blocks, expandable up to 999 blocks
After saving the settings, the disc receives one of 40 unique appearance variations – and this number will continuously grow!
Important Details
You can save settings in two ways:
- Escape key – the disc remains editable
- Enter key – the disc becomes locked with your signature and cannot be modified further
If you want to use a locked disc to create a new one – this is possible through standard crafting!
Secret Features
The mod offers additional hidden functions for true audiophiles:
To change the pitch of the song, add &pitch=1.5 at the end of your YouTube link. The available value range is from 0.5 (creep low) to 2.0 (chipmunk high), with 1.0 being the standard.
Returning to standard pitch only happens when setting the value to 1.0 – simply removing the parameter won't restore the original sound.
There are also rare secret discs that can be found in random loot chests or obtained by defeating mobs – they cannot be crafted and are only available to lucky adventurers!
Development Plans
The project is under active development – currently, only YouTube links are supported, but future versions plan to add compatibility with platforms like Discord, SoundCloud, and many others.
