My Nether's Delight
Welcome to the infernal kitchen! My Nether's Delight is an addon for the Farmer's Delight mod that completely reimagines the culinary possibilities of the Nether. This is a personal reworking of the old Nether's Delight mod with many new features and improvements.
🎯 Mod Features
Using advanced hunting techniques and culinary skills, you'll be able to prepare numerous disgusting meals and moss-covered snacks, helping you survive a bit longer in the harsh conditions of the Nether.
🔥 Core Mechanics
Pungent Effect: Reduces heart count but protects from burning. If you have fire-resistant armor or the fire resistance effect, you'll regenerate health near heat sources.
Poaching: A new enchantment/curse for axes and swords that allows obtaining Farmer's Delight ingredients without using a knife. Be careful when choosing your prey, or you might get an unpleasant surprise.
🌱 New Plants
Powdery Cannon: Bamboo in its emo phase with explosive and spicy berries.
Powdery Cane: Similar to the cannon but smaller and thinner. Only the base is useful for obtaining gunpowder, and on suitable soil it can yield more berries.
🍄 New Ingredients
Bullet Pepper: Very spicy and bright. Not recommended to consume in very hot places without precautions.
Strider Egg: Did you know that striders are ovoviviparous? If you manage to crack their hard shell, you can use them as an egg replacement, although they're also quite nutritious raw, especially if you're sick.
Strider Slice: Chewy texture and impossible to cook. Dangerous to eat alone and unminced.
Hoglin Loin: Has many unique uses in cooking, its flavor is positioned between pork and beef.
Hoglin Sausage: Nothing beats a couple of roasted sausages. Anyone want a hotdog?
Ghasta: There's no flour in the Nether, but a chef has to use what's around. Ghast tastes like rice noodles.
🏗️ New Blocks
Powdery Wood Set: Bamboo set in its worst emo phase, sorry.
Nether Trophies: Who doesn't want a Hoglin trophy on their mantelpiece? Be sure to wax it if you don't want your living room to smell of rotting flesh.
Letios Compost: When the land forgets even its name, any crop will feel comfortable in it.
Resurgent Soil: Almost every plant or crop feels comfortable in this soil. If you want to moisten it, you'll need fire instead of water.
Fungus Colony: Some Nether fungi form colonies when placed on Resurgent Soil.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Pungent Effect have two icons? The bullet pepper icon is used when the effect damages the player near flames. The heart icon is used when it regenerates health near flames (the player has resistance to fire damage).
Why does my Bullet Pepper never grow into Powdery Cane? This is an invasive plant that doesn't belong to current biomes. It grows very slowly on gravel and crimson nylium. If planted in resurgent soil, it will grow faster and even fruit at its base.
Can I use this mod in my modpack? Yes! You can use this mod in your modpack.
Fabric Version? Want to enjoy the new MND features but using Fabric? Thanks to MerchantPug, now you can! My Nether's Delight is now available on Fabric!
