Net Weight

Net Weight is a work-in-progress modification that completely overhauls the fishing mechanics in Minecraft. Although the project was recently updated for Modfest Mod Jam, the author hasn't had enough time to implement all planned features due to limited availability.

Current Features

The mod allows sorting fish based on various environmental parameters: biome temperature, rainfall levels, altitude above sea level, and thunderstorm conditions. Future updates will introduce more granular control with the ability to define specific fish types for each biome.

New Fishing Mechanics

You now need bait for successful fishing! Valid baits include most seeds, potatoes, bread, and nether warts.

Planned Updates

• Larger fish will be more difficult to catch
• Different fish weights will affect saturation levels
• Weight will be preserved after cooking fish in a furnace
• Fishing competition system between players
