Nether Expanded
A mod in the style of vanilla Minecraft that significantly expands the possibilities of using the Nether as a permanent base location. Adds new mobs, blocks, tools, and armor while maintaining the atmosphere of the original game.
New Mobs
- Nether Cow (exists in variants for warped and crimson forests)
New Blocks
- Lava Cane - spawns in the Nether on magma or near lava
- Ancient Cache - generates similarly to ancient debris, drops random loot when broken
- Nether Copper Ore - yields copper nuggets
- Nether Iron Ore - yields iron nuggets
- Waxed versions of most wooden blocks (non-flammable)
New Items
- Lava Wax - makes blocks non-flammable, removed with an axe
- Gold Copper Alloy - created from 4 gold and 5 copper ingots
- Gold Plating Smithing Template - found in bastions, works only with netherite armor
- Copper Nugget - 9 pieces combine into a copper ingot
Tools and Armor
- Gold Alloy Tools/Armor - equal in durability to iron, made from gold-copper alloy
- Gold Plated Armor - netherite armor that makes piglins neutral to the player
Features of Waxed Blocks
Waxed blocks lose their ability to burn, allowing them to be safely used near lava. Wax is applied using lava wax, which is obtained by milking nether cows with a bottle, and is removed with an axe.
