Netherending Ores
About the Modification
This modification expands resource gathering opportunities by adding various ores to the Nether and End dimensions. This solution allows players to find valuable materials in alternative dimensions, making exploration of these dangerous locations more justified and rewarding.
Key Features of Version 1.4+
- Exploding ores - some deposits may detonate during mining
- New Netherfish mob - unique creature of the Nether
- Spawning eggs for Netherfish and Endermites
- Direct item acquisition from ores, including experience
- Smelting resources directly from ore blocks
- Updated configuration system
Ore Generation
Additional mods such as CoFH World are required to manage the ore generation process. Sample configuration files for this system are provided. Nether generation settings are based on parameters from the latest version of Nether Ores mod for Minecraft 1.7.10, but with some improvements and addition of new ore types. The End uses similar settings but with reduced sizes and quantities due to the limited height of naturally generated End Stone.
Processing Recipes
Furnace recipes allow smelting ores from the Nether and End into corresponding resources according to Ore Dictionary. The amount of obtained materials is regulated by a multiplier in the configuration. Ores not found in the overworld are assigned properties similar to silk touch for gameplay balance.
Compatibility with Technology
The mod supports direct interaction with popular technical mods:
- Tinkers' Construct
- Thermal Expansion
- IndustrialCraft 2
- Mekanism
- Immersive Engineering
Recipes for Thermal Expansion account for improvements through additional modules. If necessary, integration with any of the listed mods can be disabled in the settings.
