Successor to Legendary Backpacks

Nyf's Wearable Backpacks serves as a spiritual successor to the famous Wearable Backpacks mod by copygirl, completely rewritten from scratch. This project continues the tradition of BetterStorage backpacks, offering players an elegant and balanced storage solution that stands out among alternatives.

Unique Features

One, But Not Simple

Unlike many other mods that allow carrying multiple backpacks simultaneously, here you can only equip one. This concept is inherited from the original and compensates for limited convenience with incredible customization flexibility and special charm.

Choice Between Protection and Capacity

By default, the backpack occupies the chest armor slot, providing protection comparable to leather armor. You'll have to choose: additional safety or more storage space. This feature can be disabled in settings if desired.

Sharing with Friends

A backpack on your back looks impressive, but its functionality doesn't end there! Other players can open your backpack and take necessary items, such as a pickaxe or torches for a joint mining expedition. The only condition - they must be behind you.

Safety Upon Death

Tired of losing valuable items when accidentally falling into lava? With this mod, items inside the backpack remain relatively safe. Although the backpack itself can be destroyed by explosions or other players, after death it will gently drop to the ground near your point of demise, ready for retrieval.

Unlimited Coloring Options

Use Minecraft's rich dyeing system to personalize your backpacks. Unlike limited options in other mods, here you can mix dyes and create unique color combinations to your taste.

Customization for Any Playstyle

The mod offers extensive configuration options, allowing perfect balancing of backpacks for any type of gameplay - from carefully curated builds to massive modpacks or extreme hardcore modes.

How to Use

Think of backpacks as portable wearable chests. After crafting, place it on the ground, fill it with needed items, then crouch and break it to equip. Note: the equipping process is faster than regular block breaking.

When the backpack is on your back, you can remove it by crouching and right-clicking the ground with an empty hand (on the top of a solid block).

Also available is the option to open the backpack using a hotkey, which can be configured in the controls menu (default: B).

• 1 gold ingot
• 1 wool

Additional Features

• Backpacks equipped as armor can be enchanted similarly to other protection types
• Some mobs occasionally spawn with backpacks containing random loot
