Obituary Exchange

Tired of making dangerous trips to your death location to retrieve items? This mod allows you to quickly recover all items from your gravestone using a special item - the obituary. No more risking your life trying to reach your grave!

How It Works

After death, you receive an obituary - a special item containing information about all your belongings. Instead of navigating through enemy territory to reach your gravestone, simply enter the /exchangeobituary command, and all your items will instantly appear in your inventory.

Available Commands

• /exchangeobituary - primary method to instantly retrieve items from the obituary
• /retrieveobituary - get items if you're within 15 blocks of your grave (destroys the gravestone)
• /resetexchangecooldown - reset personal cooldown (requires admin privileges)
• /resetexchangecooldown all - reset cooldowns for all players (requires higher privileges)

Configuration

All parameters can be modified in the obituaryexchange-server.toml file:

Basic Options:

• cooldown_minutes - time between uses (default: 30 minutes)
• consume_obituary - whether the obituary is consumed upon use
• allow_multiple_exchanges - allows multiple uses of a single obituary
• require_empty_inventory - requires at least 5 empty inventory slots
• drop_excess_items - items that don't fit in inventory drop to the ground
• notify_admins - notify administrators when someone uses the command

Grave Handling:

• break_grave_on_exchange - automatically destroy gravestone when using exchange
• grave_search_radius - radius for searching graves in blocks
• search_all_loaded_chunks - extended search across all loaded chunks

Exceptions: The system includes special conditions where you can use the exchange feature even if there's a nearby grave - perfect for the Nether or End dimensions where corpse runs are extremely dangerous.
