OMNI Cells
OMNI Cells — revolutionary storage solution for Applied Energistics 2: now you can store different resource types in the same cell simultaneously. Resource types include all AE keys — such as items, fluids, and any other resources added by mods to AE2.
How the system works
This modification offers three main product lines with different approaches to limiting the number of stored resource types while maintaining overall capacity from 1 to 256 million units. The key advantage is no additional penalty for new resource types: total capacity is distributed evenly across all resources.
- Omni Cells — initial use, allow storing up to 63 different resource types simultaneously in one cell
- Complex Omni Cells — scalable type limit that grows with capacity for advanced production chains
- Quantum Cells — unlimited type capacity for the most demanding users
Advantages over standard AE2 system
The classic AE2 system requires separate drives for items, fluids, and energy, while Omni Cells combine everything in a unified system. When the type limit is reached, new resource types stop being added, but existing ones continue to accumulate — no resources are lost.
Usage features
Addon compatibility: Even if third-party mods don't provide special AE2 storage drives, their resources can be stored directly in omni cells if AE2 recognizes them.
Security system: The mod uses a "small NBT" strategy — data is stored in a separate container in the world save folder, protecting against large NBT data explosions. Error-resistant loading capability preserves data even when the mod environment changes between game sessions.

Question: Can resources from mods without adapters be stored?
Answer: Yes, even resources like Souls from Industrial Foregoing can be stored by processing them through ME IO Port with Storage Bus and additional modifications for autonomous network management.
Question: What's the difference between portable and stationary versions?
Answer: All cell characteristics remain identical — the difference is only in convenience of use: portables are better for personal inventory, stationary ones are simpler for production lines.
