What is This Mod About?

OP Permission Fallback (for Fabric) solves the issue with commands in Minecraft. Many mods use the standard .hasPermission() function in their code but don't support permission systems. This creates problems on servers that employ access control systems for players.

Core Functionality

When a player is assigned the permission string "minecraft.op" (you can change it in the configuration), they gain the ability to execute all commands available to an operator through /op. Works for any access related to admin privileges.

Compatibility

Currently, the mod interfaces with permission systems using fabric-permissions-api, including the popular LuckPerms solution. The list of supported providers can be expanded in the future—feel free to open a request on GitHub to add your specific system.

Why is This Needed?

Imagine this scenario: You've created a complex permission system on your server and don't use Minecraft's default /op functionality. Then you add a new mod that isn't configured to work with external permission systems. That's where OP Permission Fallback becomes an indispensable tool.

By adding the "minecraft.op" permission to your server administrators, you give them access to all commands from mods that only check for operator status or access to game cheating features.
