Welcome to the World of Padlock
The Padlock mod provides a container protection system against unauthorized access. Currently, the functionality is limited to special containers created by the mod itself, due to a technical feature of Forge's operation.
Protective Containers
You have access to three types of secure storage:
- Wooden Safe
- Iron Safe
- Golden Safe
Each can be securely locked using an obsidian lock and key, with a special locksmith block for code configuration.
Security System Features
Despite the protection, determined players can still break into your containers with enough effort. However, broken locks become damaged and cannot be reused.
Access Management
To open a protected container, simply click on it with a key in hand. If you want to remove the lock, hold the sneak key with the key in hand.
Perfect Solution for Servers
This mod is ideal for modded servers that require a balance between protecting personal property and allowing raids. The system provides a reasonable level of security without making containers completely invulnerable.
Limitations
Due to a technical feature of Forge related to block interaction when using a shield in the off-hand, currently only the mod's special containers can be locked.
For Modpack Creators
Modpack developers can freely include Padlock in their packs.
Development Plans
Future updates plan to add:
- Lock-picking minigame
- Key reader
- Code decryption using damaged locks
