Paxi (Fabric) - Global Data & Resource Packs

Paxi offers a convenient solution for automatic loading of data and resource packs across all your Minecraft worlds. Instead of manually adding packs for each individual world every time, this mod simplifies the process to the minimum.

After installing Paxi, a special paxi directory is created in the Minecraft configuration folder. This is where you place all necessary data and resource packs that will be automatically activated when launching any world.

Data Packs

Inside the main paxi folder is a datapacks subfolder intended for data packs. It is automatically created upon the first launch of a world with the mod installed. All packs placed in this directory will be loaded globally - meaning they work in every world you create or load.

To check loaded data packs, use the /datapack list command - packs activated through Paxi are displayed in pink color. Both ZIP archives and regular folders with pack.mcmeta file are supported.

A feature of the mod is the ability to configure loading order. Upon first use, a datapack_load_order.json file is created where you can specify the activation sequence of packs. This is an optional feature - packs not included in the list are loaded in alphabetical order by folder or archive name.

Resource Packs

Similarly, the resourcepacks folder for resource packs works. All textures, sounds, and other resources placed here are automatically connected when starting the game. The same formats are supported - ZIP archives and folders with pack.mcmeta.

Starting from versions for Minecraft 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, configuration of resource pack loading order is available through the resourcepack_load_order.json file. As with data packs, this feature is additional and allows precise control over resource application sequence.

It's important to note that resource packs only work on the client side and are not supported on dedicated servers.

Paxi is perfectly suited for modpack creators, offering a simple and effective way to manage global packs without unnecessary complications.
