Pepsi's Mining Quarries

Create automated quarries for automatic resource mining! Building requires just a few simple components: a pickaxe, cauldrons with water and lava, an item frame, and a hopper. Performance and the range of mined resources directly depend on the type of pickaxe used.

Pickaxe System and Mining

Building the quarry

Each pickaxe provides unique characteristics:

  • Golden Pickaxe: 1-second interval, mines only cobblestone
  • Wooden Pickaxe: 6-second interval, adds coal to previous resources
  • Stone Pickaxe: 5-second interval, expands list with copper and lapis lazuli
  • Iron Pickaxe: 4-second interval, provides access to iron and redstone
  • Diamond Pickaxe: 3-second interval, adds gold, diamonds, and emeralds
  • Netherite Pickaxe: 2-second interval, includes ancient debris in mining list

The probability of obtaining valuable resources decreases with their rarity. For example, the chance of finding ancient debris is only 1 in 1125. The bulk of mining output consists of cobblestone.

Durability Mechanics and Enchantments

The pickaxe gradually loses durability during operation. When durability reaches minimum, the tool with one durability point is sent along with mined resources - this prevents complete destruction of the pickaxe.

Various enchantments are supported:

  • Unbreaking significantly extends service life (works up to level 10)
  • Fortune enchantments increase resource yield (up to 3 levels)
  • Silk Touch allows mining blocks in their original form
  • Mending completely eliminates tool wear

Upgrades and Configuration

Upgrading the quarry

Productivity can be increased by adding additional lava cauldrons - maximum 3 additional containers.

Filtration System

Item Filtering

Added resource filtering capability! Place item frames on lava cauldrons to select up to 4 resource types for preservation. Unwanted resources will be automatically destroyed.

Shared Systems

Shared cauldrons

Multiple quarries can use the same lava cauldrons, similar to how sugar cane shares water. Filters also apply to connected systems.
