Planets+ - Expanding the Boundaries of Space and Beyond
The Planets+ modification significantly enriches the game universe by adding numerous new planets, moons, and entire star systems to explore.
Getting Started
This content is a datapack. For its installation, the main Ad Astra mod is required. The datapack installation process is detailed in the official Minecraft guide.
Users of version 1.20.1 need to use Ad Astra version 1.15.18 or higher. In some cases, manual installation may be required as this version is marked as beta.
Important Features
The datapack requires a resource pack. In versions before B1.7, it can be found as a separate downloadable file. Starting from version 1.7, the resource pack is included in the same file as the datapack - it needs to be copied simultaneously to both resourcepacks and datapacks folders.
The mod version does not require separate resource pack loading as it is already built into the main content.
Game Content
What's currently available in Planets+?
The Solar System now features a trojan planet named Jada with a moon called Diater. You can now land on Ganymede, Europa, Callisto, Io, Titan, Enceladus, Iapetus, Pluto, and Charon. Two additional star systems have also been added.
The Kepler Centauri system is located in the Centaurus constellation and includes 4 planets: Vulcan, Fierer, Ronxys, and Gaila, as well as a dwarf planet named Dytiona.
The Kepler 10352 system consists of 4 planets: Graze, Unity, Glacies, and Eclipsa. A gas giant is planned for addition in the future.
Implementation Details
In versions before BV1.4, landing on gas or ice giants results in character death.
Due to datapack limitations, new blocks are not added, which may sometimes lead to ore mismatches on different planets.
All gas giant textures in the Solar System are taken from the base Ad Astra mod.
Updates
Updates are released infrequently, but development information will be published here.
The next major update is expected no earlier than 8+ months from now, as work is underway to convert the content into a full-fledged mod.
