Potion ID Helper — Assistant for Resolving Potion Conflicts

Looking for a way to handle potion identifier conflicts in your modded Minecraft? This tool is specifically designed for pack creators, helping to efficiently resolve such issues and expand the potion system's limitations.

How It Works

The modification implements several key functions for detecting and resolving conflicts:

  • Automatic space expansion — increases the available potion ID range to 2048
  • Real-time monitoring — tracks all potions added to the game and registers emerging collisions
  • Solution search — identifies available IDs and creates a conflict list with ready replacement options
  • Report generation — produces a text file with detailed information about problems and recommendations for fixing them

The report file is saved in the game's configuration folder. Here's an example of what the program's output might look like:

Potion Id Sorter has found 5 potion ID conflicts. In each case, the first potion was overwritten, and the second one took its place.

Conflict: vazkii.botania.common.brew.potion.PotionAllure:botania.potion.allure replaced com.emoniph.witchery.brewing.potions.PotionChilled:witchery:potion.chilled at ID: 95. Replace one of these with ID 87.

You can identify which mod a potion belongs to by its class name. For example, "am2.buffs.ArsMagicaPotion" belongs to Ars Magica, "vazkii.botania.common.brew.potion.PotionSoulCross" belongs to Botania.

Important Features

⚠️ Important note: After resolving all conflicts, it's highly recommended to remove this modification (unless you need more than 127 potion IDs). The implemented base range extension breaks compatibility with vanilla servers.

Installation

Before starting, always create a backup of your world:

  • Remove old versions of PotionIDHelper and BrandonsCore from the mods folder
  • Install Minecraft Forge
  • Place both PotionIDHelper and BrandonsCore files in the mods folder

Compatibility

🍪 Required dependency: BrandonsCore is necessary for proper operation

📝 Project status: The modification is in beta testing phase, so occasional issues may occur during operation.
