Presence Footsteps

...An Overly Complicated Sound Mod...

This is the continuation of the original mod by Huricaaan (Ha3), now maintained and updated to the latest versions of Minecraft. All previous features have been restored, new capabilities have been added, and further development promises to be active in the open repository on GitHub!

Expect a richer and more immersive Minecraft world where Presence Footsteps adds new and more dynamic sounds for every block the player walks on. Each block is assigned its own material and can produce individual, customizable sounds that better match their composition.

Wooden chests creak and seem old, stone sounds dusty and rough. Piston heads produce wooden sounds while their bodies produce stone sounds. Even cake sounds like you might destroy the frosting by stepping on it! Tall grass and bristles create a dry, rustling sound when passing through them, and magma sounds like it's literally frying your souls!

Moreover, the latest version includes footstep sounds for certain non-block entities: shulkers make the same creaky sounds as shulker boxes, boats sound like wood, and armor stands creak and produce stone footstep sounds when walking on their stone slab base.

Sound Packs

Presence Footsteps is fully customizable with resource packs. The mod by default includes its own sounds and material mappings for vanilla blocks, but if you don't like these sounds or want to use your own, they can be overridden by installing a resource pack from the community.

Mod Support

Presence Footsteps attempts to determine the sounds of modded blocks by analyzing the vanilla material/sound types they use. However, if your mod uses very unique sounds, you can add mappings to directly control which sounds Presence Footsteps uses for your block by following the guide on our wiki.
