Progressive Damage
Issues with New Forge Versions
Due to technical difficulties in the latest Forge versions, some features are temporarily disabled.
New Approach to Difficulty
Tired of constant deaths at the start of the game? Disappointed with the too-easy endgame where nothing poses a threat? The Progressive Damage mod radically changes the difficulty balance!
At the beginning of the game, mobs can hardly damage you, providing a comfortable start. However, with each attack received, enemies become more dangerous. The more damage you take from a specific mob, the stronger its subsequent attacks become - up to a deadly one-hit kill.
Defensive Mechanisms
The only ways to protect against progressive damage are:
- High armor level
- Using a shield for blocking
- Regular Protection enchantment
Parameter Settings
The mod provides game rules for fine-tuning the balance:
- Standard delay between taking damage - 20 ticks (1 second)
- Base damage resistance set to 10
- Shield resistance default is 5
Useful Features
Click on a mob with a clock in hand to see its current damage value. This indicator can only be reduced by changing the scoreboard.
Known Issues
Entities with single-character IDs cannot attack the player (extremely rare situation). This error is related to the specifics of ID extraction and is present only in version 1.16.5.
Version Compatibility
Versions 1.16.5 and 1.17.1 are not compatible with each other due to differences in ID extraction methods.
