Project Omnipotence
Project Omnipotence is an experimental modification that offers a completely new approach to playing Minecraft. The core concept is built around the philosophical idea that all creatures and mobs in the world represent a single entity. When the player immerses themselves in this worldview, they achieve a state of complete harmony with the environment and gain unique abilities.
Path to Enlightenment
To become an "omnipotent" or enlightened player, one must find and read a special tome called "The Tome of Truth". This artifact can be discovered in ancient ruins hidden deep within mountain biomes. After reading, the book disappears, and the player receives a chat message and begins emitting white particles, symbolizing their new status.
Features of Enlightenment
In addition to visual effects, the enlightened player notices that hostile mobs no longer attack them. However, they also lose the ability to deal direct damage to other creatures. Instead, when attempting to attack a target, it also becomes covered in white particles, drops its usual loot and experience, and becomes enlightened.
From the very beginning, omnipotent players gain immunity to all negative status effects.
Ability Development
As the player enlightens other creatures, they develop their abilities. For every 250 enlightened creatures (up to 1000), they receive:
- Looting level (+1)
- Fortune level (+1)
- Luck level (+1)
- -25 emerald discount on all villager trades
Maximum bonuses are +3 to looting, fortune, and luck, as well as a -75 emerald discount.
Upon reaching 1000 enlightened creatures, the player becomes completely invulnerable to all types of damage. Any damage dealt by other creatures is reflected back to the attacker, following the principle of "what you give is what you get back". Additionally, the player can no longer fall into the void—instead, they teleport to the nearest solid block or bounce above y=0 until reaching a safe area.
Returning to Normal Gameplay
If the player becomes bored with this alternative playstyle, they can return to their normal state by reading "The Tome of Lies". This tome can be found in rarely spawning shrines in the Nether. After reading, the white particles disappear, and the player can once again freely engage in combat with mobs.
Additional Features
Configuration Settings
The configuration file allows customization of various aspects of omnipotence:
- List of players with initial enlightened creature counts for permanent omnipotence from world start
- Enlightenment thresholds for luck levels, invulnerability, and flight ability
- Total number of available luck levels
- Visual settings for enlightened players
Many of these abilities can be disabled if they seem too overpowered.
