Protective Elytra: Combine Elytra with Chestplates

Tired of constantly switching between elytra wings and chestplates? Now you can solve this problem with one simple solution!

Main Concept

This datapack and resource pack combination allows you to combine a chestplate, elytra, and phantom membrane in a crafting table or smithing table. The resulting hybrid elytra provides the same level of protection as a regular chestplate while maintaining flight capability. As a bonus, you get enhanced durability compatible with the chestplate used.

Crafting Features

Two methods are available for creating protective elytra:

• Standard Crafting: Use a regular crafting table for basic combination of elements. Suitable when preserving enchantments and decorative elements is not a priority.

• Smithing Table: Optimal method for preserving all enchantments and decorative elements of your chestplate. Smithing transfers all properties to the new combined elytra.

Visual Aspects and Customization

The resource pack includes special textures matching different types of chestplates. Display of individual elytra patterns depends on whether a cape is equipped - without it you'll see unique design, with a cape - standard texture.

Important feature: Decorative elements appear both on elytra and cape, creating a unified visual look. Leather variants are available for dyeing in any colors, which is especially convenient for team battles and mini-games.

Technical Nuances

For correct texture display, resource pack usage is mandatory. Disabling cape demonstration allows better viewing of your new elytra's individual design.
