Prune Addon for FTB Chunks [Fabric]

This addon provides administrators with special commands to clean game files from unclaimed chunks that haven't been claimed through the FTB Chunks system. The tool helps optimize world sizes and manage server space.

Main Application Possibilities

The mod offers several practical usage scenarios:

  • Ability to regenerate world areas without needing a complete reset
  • Significant reduction of backup file sizes
  • Reduction of disk space occupied by excessively large worlds
  • Removal of abandoned bases and structures on multiplayer servers

/prune Command

The main command cleans region files and points of interest in the selected dimension, removing all data that doesn't contain chunks claimed through FTB-Chunks.

Syntax: /prune [-deep <true/false>] [-filetype <region_files | poi_files>] [-dimension ] [do_not_backup <true | false>]

Command Parameters

  • deep: When set to true, the mod will analyze each file with claimed chunks and remove all adjacent unclaimed areas. Default: false

  • file-type: Defines file types for cleaning: region_files or poi_files. Default: both types

  • dimension: Selection of dimension for data processing. Default: overworld

  • do_not_backup: If set to true, cleaned files won't be saved in backup. Default: false

Use with extreme caution! Value true will lead to permanent file deletion.

Important Usage Instructions

Before executing the cleanup command, make sure of the following:

  • All chunks intended for deletion must be unloaded from memory
  • You are not located in a chunk planned for cleanup
  • On multiplayer servers, other players shouldn't be in areas scheduled for removal
  • After command execution, обязательно restart the server
  • If you see identical files in original and backup folders, an error has occurred. Files that should have been deleted were loaded on the server and saved again after cleanup. To avoid this, you can force stop the server immediately after executing the cleanup command, preventing the saving of loaded chunks. Be careful - this may lead to loss of unsaved progress.

Deep Cleaning Already Implemented!

Now you can remove all unclaimed chunks using the -deep parameter, including those stored in the same region files as claimed chunks.

Planned Features

  • Configurable paths for storing backups of deleted files
  • Compression of files for backup
  • Automated scheduled cleanup execution
  • Cleaning of unclaimed chunks stored in the same region files as claimed ones - ALREADY IMPLEMENTED!
